For the past 11 years, my family and I have proudly called this community home.
As the parent of two daughters in Rockwood schools and the spouse of a Rockwood graduate, I’ve seen firsthand the power of an exceptional education to shape lives and strengthen communities. With 15 years of experience as an educator—including roles in general and special education and instructional coaching—I bring a deep understanding of how to support teachers, meet diverse student needs, and improve outcomes for all learners. In addition to my professional background, I am a dedicated Girl Scout troop leader and active member of the PTO.
I’m running for the Rockwood School Board to ensure every student has access to an outstanding education that prepares them for the future. This means adapting resources to address evolving needs, expanding college and career pathways, and fostering student engagement and well-being.
As a board member, I will prioritize student-centered decisions by focusing on programs that reflect student needs, expanding opportunities for community feedback, and using data to guide impactful investments. I’m also dedicated to supporting our educators by exploring innovative strategies to raise salaries, partnering with nonprofits and universities to build a stronger teacher pipeline, and providing meaningful professional growth opportunities.
Throughout my career, I have been driven by the belief that every student deserves access to quality education, no matter their starting point. Together, we can ensure Rockwood remains a place where students excel, teachers thrive, and our community grows stronger. Let’s shape a brighter future for our schools and children.

Dear Neighbor,
My two daughters attend Rockwood schools, and my husband is a Rockwood graduate. I’ve seen how great schools can shape lives and make our community strong. With 15 years of experience as a teacher and instructional coach, I know how to support teachers, help students, and improve learning. I’m also a Girl Scout troop leader and active PTO member, working with parents and staff to support our schools.
I’m running for the Rockwood School Board to ensure every child gets an excellent education. That means using resources wisely, giving kids more paths to college and careers, and helping them stay engaged and healthy.
I believe board decisions should always focus on students. I want to fund programs that really help kids, listen to feedback from families and the community, and use data to make smart choices.
Good schools need good teachers. We have to find a way to make our teacher pay competitive, and we must continue to build a pipeline to bring in new talent by teaming up with universities and nonprofits.
Our schools are the heart of our community. I’m committed to keeping them excellent while meeting the changing needs of our children. Let’s work together to give every child the tools to succeed.
I would be honored to have your support. Please reach out with any questions or ideas. Your voice matters.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Sarah Boyer
Priorities for Rockwood
-
Access to education for all students is essential. We must adapt resources to meet diverse needs, expand college and career pathways, and support student engagement and well-being.
-
Ensure board decisions remain student-centered by prioritizing programs that meet student needs, expanding opportunities for feedback from students, families, and the community, and using data-driven insights to guide policies and investments.
Maintain fiscal responsibility by maximizing the impact of our tax dollars and ensuring resources are allocated effectively. Regular and thorough budget reviews will allow the district to adapt to shifting priorities and address the evolving needs of our students and community.
-
Focus on teacher retention and recruitment by exploring innovative strategies to raise salaries to at least the midpoint range, partnering with nonprofits and universities to strengthen the teacher pipeline, and creating meaningful opportunities for professional development and growth within Rockwood.
